Exercises to Improve Lumbar StabilityBird DogThe bird dog exercise is a more advanced exercise that can help improve lumbar stability and core strength. To perform bird dog, start on your hands and knees with your wrists directly under your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips. Slowly lift your right arm and left leg, extending them straight out in front of you and behind you, respectively. Hold for a few seconds, then lower your arm and leg back down to the ground. Repeat on the other side, lifting your left arm and right leg. Focus on keeping your core stable and your back straight throughout the movement.
